Jacob Sheep at Wellspring Farm

Do you like small, hardy sheep with huge personalities and nice spinning fiber AND help preserve one of the oldest breeds of sheep in the world?  Then Jacobs might be the breed for you. Our sheep are registered with the JSBA (Jacob Sheep Breeders Association).  The rovings and yarns produced from these neat sheep are among our best selling items. If you would like more information or have questions send us an email, at llama1@yancey.main.nc.us.

  WELLSPRING FARM OPEN FARM DAY

APRIL 20, 10:00 till 5:00

This will the first of three planned Open Farm Days in 2008. Come see the llamas, our cute new jacob lambs, bunnies and much more. The shop will be open, and we will be demonstrating spinning, including antique wheels, and needle felting.  From 12 till 1 meet the llamas and take a walk with them.  At 1 and 3 Ted will discuss all you ever wanted to know about living with llamas. At 2 and 4 Ted will discuss fencing, pasture management and barns.

Oak Moon Farm will be joining us, and Cindy will be presenting her wonderful goat cheeses to sample and buy.

Plan on good weather, bring a picnic if you like and have some fun with us.
