Llamas at Wellspring Farm

An ongoing love affair

We saw our first llamas at a county fair in 1992.  It was love at first sight and took us from a townhouse in NY state to a farm in the mountains of North Carolina. There will always be llamas at Wellspring Farm.  We love to introduce people to our herd during our farm tours.

Why llamas?

Llamas are smart, lovely and unique.  Each has their own special personality.  Llamas are from South America and have been domesticated for over 6000 years.

What do we do with llamas

We use the llama fiber for spinning, yarns and felted items.  Over the years we have had 4H clubs, shown in the showring, marched in parades, taken them to festivals and even a wedding!   Our llamas are the reason for Wellspring Farm and are our ambassaders to our farm visitors.  If you wish to learn more about llamas or just get up close plan a llama visit.
