This is a general introductory course in the care and management of raising sheep for beginners. Course topics include: sheep breeds and choosing sheep, housing, fencing, feeding and nutrition, health issues, breeding, handling and fiber and raising sheep for wool.
The workshop is held in the livestock barn so classes take place rain or shine. There will be hands on work with the sheep and some time spent in the fields so dress accordingly (closed shoes or boots a must).
The barn has a lovely covered deck and if you wish you can bring a snack or lunch for before or after the workshop. Bottled water will be available.
Workshops can be scheduled weekdays or Saturdays. Workshops take approximately 2-1/2 hours
